应急避难所”是由黎巴嫩美国大学修建系大三的学生规划的，坐落比布鲁斯校区。学生们依照模型，以1:1的份额进行组成。修建导师richard douzjian要求学生选用一般的、日常的、全球通用的资料，规划这种暂时的结构。这样的话，许多难民也能选用日常的资料，去建立新的居处。
该规划项目名为“ECS-p1”，只运用了两种修建资料：农业生产必备的塑料箱和寻常的拉链绳，浅显而简略。这些箱子能够屡次运用，固定它们的绳子也是，到达可回收运用的意图
每面墙有三个笔直的支撑柱，窗台上的每个箱子还能作为贮藏单元，寄存东西。这种两层规划非常便当，箱子还能当椅子用，或是作桌子腿。在酷热枯燥的时节，这儿相当于一个帐子，比较有用。天然光线足够，通风也好，也很凉爽，比较健壮，打造了一个无缝的空间
ECS-p1内部会有9平方米的寓居空间，桌子是用纸质管子做成的，也系上相同的塑料绳。房顶也是由一个个箱子组成的，用绳子把它们系牢。规划者也在进行隔热研讨，企图把聚氯乙烯的盒子放入塑料箱里边。
